Your next Samsung phone might have AMD Graphics: TechBlog

Samsung partnered with AMD to improve the graphics and performance of Exynos chipset.

Samsung is one of the leading companies in the smartphone industry. Most people love having Samsung phones, as they are getting more good and powerful. But one thing that people don't love about these phones is the Exynos chipset present in them. This CPU does not do a good job when it comes to displaying high-quality graphics. So, people just switch to Samsung phones with Snapdragon chipset or another smartphone company. Since Snapdragon provides much good graphics compared to Exynos, it was necessary for Samsung to look into this issue.

Well now, Samsung is almost ready to break the competition. It has partnered with AMD, the leading company in Computer Graphics, to integrate it's graphics in the Exynos processor. AMD is renowned for designing high-quality graphic cards and CPU's in the computer world. This collaboration is done in order to bring high-quality, immersive graphics to smartphones. This change is made so that smartphones would give the same gaming experience as a high-end gaming PC.

The graphics technology that Samsung would be using is AMD RDNA 2. This technology is also used in next-generation PC gaming graphics, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S consoles. This architecture uses AMD's Infinite Cache technology to achieve a data transfer rate of about 1664 Gb/s. Here's a video from AMD describing the RDNA 2 architecture.

This new chip is 3 times more powerful than the Adreno 650 graphics from Snapdragon. . This new Exynos chip will be having two main features, Ray tracing, and VRS. VRS was already introduced by Snapdragon but it is the first time that ray tracing has come to the mobile market.

This chipset is most likely to come up in the next flagship phone from Samsung. Until this chip is introduced in cheaper phones as well, Samsung users will have to settle their urge on the present type of chips and graphics.
