The Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is changing to Black in Windows 11.

Microsoft has released the latest operating system, Windows 11. The company has made a lot of changes in this version of Windows, including UI, appearance, features, and much more. Along with that, there is one more change which not much people would notice. It's the change in BSOD, meaning the Blue Screen of Death.

For those who do not know about BSOD, it is the interface that pops up when there is kernel failure or bug check in the operating system. It gives information about the error, the error code and the way to troubleshoot it. According to TechTarget, "Officially called the stop screen, or stop error, the blue screen of death (BSOD) is a most unwanted error, second only to malware or ransomware in indicating that a user is in for a very bad day. It comes with no warning and all unsaved work is immediately lost. And given what it indicates, that could be the least of a user's problems." The BSOD was modified by Microsoft in Windows 8. For earlier versions, it used to look like this

And for Windows 8 to Windows 10, it was something like this

Now, Microsoft is turning the Blue Screen of Death into the Black Screen of Death. The reason behind this change is most likely to be the visual overhaul that Microsoft has put in the Windows 11 to give it a fresh look. The new BSOD is supposed to match with the Black startup and shutdown screens. The developers enrolled in Microsoft's Insider program, who have access to the preview version of the new operating systems, have given this information on their social media.
